Do these symptoms sound like side effects from weed?

my mom and stepdad have progressively lost interest in the family and other things, for example they neglect their kids and always want to stay home, they have become hermits so to speak. Also my step dad has bad tempers and mood swings, and my mom is so forgetful. she also has bad acne and is almost 40. my fiancee and I joke that they are bipolar, because they are the nicest people on the weekends, but during the week you dont even want to be around them. please help me identify if this is because of weed or some other drug. I dont judge them or anything, I just want to know why this family is falling apart at such a fast pace.
