Why is she taking this out on me?!?

Ok so ive been dating this girl for 3 weeks now and i really like her and i asked her to be my girlfriend. she told me she really really wants to say yes but some other girl wont back off. So this girl was supposed to ask me to sadies today but she never did. She wont tell her who the girl is either. She told me that she wont be my girlfriend until this girl asks me so i can prove to her that she is my one and only. But she is taking this out on me. she told me today not to call her tonight, just to text. She has been acting really weird and pissy since i asked her to be my gf. I understand that she feels like im her territory but shouldnt she be mad and fighting with the other girl not me?
